National Coach Certification Program

WELCOME TO COACH CERTIFICATION

On behalf of the United States Judo Federation, I would like to congratulate you on your participation in the United States Judo Federation Judo National Coach Certification program.  The USJF has approved this National certificated program as a means to develop the coaching effectiveness of the grassroots instructor up through to the Olympic/World level coach.

Training for Competition, Judo Coaching Strategy and the Science for Success by Professor Hayward Nishioka, is a comprehensive educational program designed to prepare individuals for success coaching.   Hayward Nishioka, Professor of Physical Education from Los Angeles City College, has combined his academic background with many years of experience as a coach, administrator, official, athlete and parent to create this unique guide.

Training for Competition, Judo Coaching Strategy and the Science for Success has been written specifically for Judo coaches. 

The USJF National Coach certification can be done through distance learning (online). Cost - $75.00 includes Training for Competition, Judo Coaching Strategy and the Science for Success Manual and access to the online testing section.

The module 1 - National Coach Certification is good for 2 years with the subsequent yearly renewal fee of $25.00. In addition, you have the option to apply for USA Judo Coach Certification.

The USJF National Coach certification has 4 modules. You start with Module 1-National Coach Certification, through distance learning.

or, You can attend the 1 day clinic covering Modules 1 & 2, Certification good for 3 years. The 2 day clinic covering all the modules. The 2 day clinic certification is good for 4 years.

At the conclusion of each chapter you will have the opportunity to take the online test.  The distance learning online test will be of a True/False and/or Multiple Choice question format.  Upon conclusion of each chapter test, the results will be given to you immediately.  You must score 90% or higher to acquire your Coach Certification.

Upon successful completion of the program and verification of current membership in USJF, your National Coaching Certificate will be mailed to you from the United States Judo Federation National Office. You must also pass the background check.
